So what exactly is a wireless network? And why does it have to be secured? A wireless network allows several computers, laptops, game consoles and PDA’s to share a single high speed internet connection without having to run cables throughout the house. Everyone gets to use the internet at the same time! An unsecured network can cause all sorts of problems.

The most common and minor problem is that anyone within the broadcast range of your router can use your internet for free. Now, you may say, "Oh well, big deal!" but here’s the problem: They are using your bandwidth, causing your internet to slow down on your own machines!

The bigger problem with an unsecured network is that a person can access all of the computers attached to that network. That would allow anyone within broadcast range to view personal information that is stored on your computers. Plus, they could install key-loggers to catch your user name and passwords when you sign into web sites (such as online banking), putting you at risk for identity theft and other problems.

What is Printer Sharing and File Sharing? Printer Sharing allows users on your network to access the same printer(s) without having to move it around and plugging it into every computer that wants to print. File Sharing allows your legitimate network users to access designated files on each computer.

The price for a wireless network setup is only $85.00 for two computers and a printer. Additional devices can be set up at a rate of $25.00 each. We can also set up your Apple / Macintosh computer on the network.

However, if repairing the machine is best, and it is simply a hardware issue, we will help you find a good deal on hardware. We do not stock parts, as it is not economical to do so. Hence, we keep the costs down and offer you our services at an affordable and fair rate.

If the issue is just software related, we can fix it right there on the spot. Rates are $85.00 an hour with a one hour minimum and are billed in 15 minute increments after the first hour.

Typically, problems can be diagnosed in less then an hour, and most software issues are resolved within three hours -- hardware issues within an hour. If data needs to be recovered or backed up, doing so could take about 15 minutes for less then four gigabytes.

Yes, we also repair laptops.

For example, for a laptop DC jack replacement, we simply charge a flat rate of $85.00 for most models. For LCD screen replacements, we only charge a $85.00 flat rate for labor (and most replacement screens average around $155.00).

Are you bogged down by viruses or spyware?

For only $150, we remove viruses and spyware from your computer. You can drop off your computer, or we can pick it up. The turn-around time is typically 72 hours or less. If reformatting your computer's hard drive is absolutely necessary, we will back up all your data (no limits) without any additional charges.
